Emily O.
She is a friend and our family doctor, truly going through our family’s healing process with us.
Dr. Jennifer L. Smith, NMD, or Dr. Jenn as patients fondly call her, is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor certified in both Environmental and Swiss Biological Medicine and the Founder of SilverTree Wellness Center.
She’s also one of a select few physicians in the world certified in the Shoemaker Protocol for Mold and Biotoxin Illness.
Dr. Jenn is dedicated to practicing as a partner in care with patients and families seeking preventative natural medicine for optimum lifelong health as well as those struggling to find relief from complex, chronic conditions.
A tragic end to her father’s non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma was the start of Dr. Jenn’s journey of pursuing her purpose in natural medicine. Witnessing both conventional and alternative healthcare practices at the time — what they could offer and the gaps in care — as well as noticing the unconscious emotional blocks that contributed to disease left her with a deep desire to learn more and find answers to the many unanswered questions she had about the nature of health and healing.
She believes the future of healthcare lies in uniting science and spirit to support natural healing and practices it now. With a multidisciplinary approach to diagnostic and therapeutic services, Dr. Jenn blends naturopathic, integrative, biological, environmental, functional, and mind-body medicine to treat the whole person — body, mind, and soul. She utilizes the best of both natural and western medicine approaches.
A lifelong learner dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, the cultivation of wisdom, and the expansion of consciousness, Dr. Smith’s professional education paired with her dedication to honor and align with her own higher power is evident in her open-hearted bedside manner, expert evaluation of healthcare conditions, and intuitive assessment of best course of treatment.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from Arizona State University. In her free time, she continues to study spirituality and honors each of Earth’s religious and cultural traditions as sacred and complementary. From a holistic viewpoint, when put together like a puzzle, they reveal an intricate picture of our beautiful world. When one piece is damaged or missing, there is a diminishing effect on all.
She believes health and wellness in our bodies work much the same. When balance is compromised or the mind-body-spirit connection is lost, there’s often a quick decline in energy and vitality. If not corrected, imbalance often leads to the onset of more serious conditions.
Dr. Jenn maintains balance by spending time in nature. Her greatest treasures are her two beautiful daughters, assisting in the daily upbringing of her grandchildren, and walking with her patients’ on their healing journeys, witnessing the return of their health, wholeness, and joy.
After completing her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Jenn completed a 6-month internship in immunology and autoimmune disease. From there, she was granted a one-year residency at the American Center for Biological Medicine with Dickson Thom, DDS, ND, and Jeoffrey Drobot, NMD. This inspired her passion for biological medicine, a demanding field that requires not only a very scientific mind, but also a naturally gifted intuitive nature — a perfect fit for Dr. Jenn. In pursuit of that passion, she went on to obtain certification in Swiss Biological Medicine with Dr. Thomas Rau, MD.
Over her life, several of Dr. Jenn’s close relatives and friends suffered negative health consequences from environmental exposures, including her best friend who battled for her life after exposure to toxic mold. It took almost 2 years before her friend was able to find a physician who could help. This physician, a Shoemaker Protocol Certified Physician, was able to restore her health, which excited and intrigued Dr. Smith as a practicing physician herself.
She went to hear Dr. Shoemaker’s lecture on Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), mold illness, and the biotoxin pathway. It immediately resonated and felt like the answer to a missing piece she’d witnessed in the recovery of her own patients, especially those with a Lyme Disease diagnosis. Shortly after, she became certified by Dr. Shoemaker and is now sought out for her expertise by individuals and families from across the world.
Dr. Smith is a Lyme literate physician and member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) as well as a founding Diplomate Member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI).
True to her dedication to lifelong learning, Dr. Jenn is presently in the process of obtaining certification in ART with Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, Ph.D. and the Klinghardt Academy.
“My drive to get to the root cause of illness, helping you regain your health and joy in living, is what keeps me constantly searching for innovative ideas and solutions. I’m committed to continuing education and personal development so I can remain an informed advocate for your health. I look forward to partnering with you on your healing journey.” -Dr. Jenn
